About

Just Good Eats is a collection of recipes, reviews, and tips. It’s my way of documenting my favorites and sharing them with you.

I subscribe to a pile of cooking magazines and own hundreds of cookbooks, so sometimes I make myself crazy looking for a specific recipe. (Consider this an occupational hazard of collecting cookbooks.) To solve this, and to add a personal note to the recipes I use, I started Just Good Eats back in 2004.

Five years earlier, Alton Brown launched his show Good Eats on the Food Network. At the time, cooking shows were just starting to find their place in American kitchens (and living rooms). Today, Good Eats is wildly popular, and folks often confuse his site with mine. This is Just Good Eats, not Good Eats. My hat is off to the star chef, but if you are looking for Alton Brown, you won’t find him here.

What you will find is tested recipes, honest reviews, and handy tips from me, The Rocket.
